Newspaper Obituary Submission Instructions:
|
Through special
arrangement with the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Ruffin and
Jarrett Funeral Home has the ability to submit obituaries
electronically to the newspaper.
If you want the
obituary to run the following day, please send the information
to us no later than 1:00 pm. The newspaper cut-off time is
1:45 pm, so the sooner you get the obituary to Ruffin and
Jarrett, the better the chances are for it running the
next day. Once we receive the obituary from
you, our staff goes over it, checking/correcting
spelling, grammar, continuity, and punctuation. We then
submit it to the newspaper to be added to their obituary
section.
After you send the obituary, you should
receive an email confirmation letting you know
that it has been delivered to the funeral home's in-box.
Please note that it is always a good idea to call your
assigned funeral director to let her know you have
sent the obituary.
Please see below for an example of
a standard obituary.
